I’m sure most of my followers know, I have been raising money for my surgery I had a few months ago. This is the link, and here is my story:

Hello. My name is Camille, and I got a hernia repair surgery on the 13th of April, 2017. I had a cluster of hernias under a scar from when I was 1 year old in the hospital with appendicitis. I had a cardiac arrest, my internal organs on my stomach in a bag, I was in a coma, and 175 blood transfusions at that time. I turned two in the hospital, went home with a feeding tube, and staples down my stomach, because the doctors thought they might have to open me up again. I almost died.

This year I decided to get looked at, since I had been having problems with my stomach, and my doctors said it was most likely due to scarred tissue, from back then. 

I decided to get my hernia (at the time I thought there was only one) repaired, and my disfigured stomach stitched up by a plastic surgeon. 

Everything went well, except the stitching came a part a bit, and has left a large scar the father down you go. (Either way it looks much better than it did)

I paid 3000$ out of pocket before the surgery to the doctor to get it done, plus 200$ to the anesthesiologist. 

After the surgery I got a bill for 900$ from the anesthesiologist. That wasn’t so horrible so I set up a payment plan with them and only have 200$ left to pay.

Last week I received another bill. For another 3,800$ to the hospital. I have spent hours on the phone, with the billing department, as well as my insurance. 

I had not been told the amount the insurance would make me pay out of pocket. I admit this is partially my fault for not looking deep enough into it.. I’m young. This was the first thing I have attempted to do by myself… I would have just delt with it if I had known. I wouldn’t have ever gotten the surgery, if I knew I’d be out almost 8,000$.

I’m at the end of my rope here.. And I don’t know what to do… I’ve argued and argued that I wasn’t aware. But it doesn’t matter. They are going to charge me 3,800$, or send it to collections. I already have a judgment against me.. They’re already taking a 3rd of my paycheck. Not to mention my diabetic bills, which, due to this mess, I have defaulted on. (I have about 270$ of that left as well).

At 22, I thought I’d be living it up, and going on trips, having fun and living out my youth. 

Instead I have an impossible debt, that I have to pay within three months.. Or they will take everything..
