Reblog if you DON’T feel like you’re in charge of your medical care.

This could be anything from:

1. Doctor not listening to your symptoms

2. Not giving you a stronger or weaker dosage when you need it.

3. Not giving you the meds you know work because “well these are new and better.”

4. Not letting you get tests done without talking to them extendedly.

5. Blaming your weight

6. Insurance

Being jealous and insecure is okay. Demanding that your friend or partner stop seeing their other friends isn’t.

Wanting attention is okay. Demanding your friend or partners attention 24/7 isn’t.

Being angry is okay. Taking your anger out on innocent people isn’t.

We can’t control our feelings and we shouldn’t attempt to, but we can and should work to control our reactions to said feelings.

Neurotypicals should be banned from giving brainweird advice: Task Inertia / initiation edition. Featuring

  • “I’m going to advise reminders even though your problem is not needing reminders but starting tasks”
  • “I’m going to advise you write down the steps involved in the task for you to follow even though your problem is not following the steps involved, but starting tasks”
  • and the ever-useless, “I’m going to advise you to just start the task even though your problem is starting tasks,”
  • along with bonus: “when you express frustration at my overwhelmingly poor attempts at comprehending your problem, I‘m going to implicitly accuse you of being lazy or spoiled.”

Not included:

  • “I’m going to advise you to make sure you have everything you need ready with you before you get started, even though your problem is starting tasks”
  • “I’m going to advise you that it won’t be so bad once you’re doing the task because I’ve willfully misinterpreted your problem as anxiety or dislike of the task, even though you have stated clearly that your problem is starting tasks”
  • “I’m going to advise you to listen to fun, upbeat music to make the task more enjoyable for you even though you have this issue with tasks you already enjoy because your problem is starting tasks”
  • “I’m going to advise you to stop being lazy and accuse you of being spoiled because I refuse to understand that you have an actual neurological problem starting tasks”
  • “I’m going to advise you just try harder because I have absolutely zero understanding of how the human brain handles anything ever and willfully refuse to learn that you have a genuine neurological condition which, amongst other things, causes you severe difficulty with starting tasks.”
  • And likely more I can’t think of right now.

A metaphor about my biggest issue regarding executive function. Vent comic I started last year and forgot how I was gonna finish. It’s supposed to be a cheetah that I apparently named Cheetash due to a typo, according to old tags on a pic of them (I do not remember this) and a dog. Also a periodic reminder that I kinda suck at drawing.
