Part One of a dragon commission for @ladyccr Part Two is coming soon.
You had always had a secret dream that something would come and destroy the castle. You dreamed your annoying little sister’s room would be the first to go. You hated the joy the thought brought you but you allowed yourself to indulge in it. You knew if anything like that were to happen you’d never forgive yourself for wishing it. Dreams were meant to be just that, dreams.
You had been dreaming a lot recently. Stories had been surfacing almost constantly of attacks on villages and other castles. Orcs and dragons were the most common. There were talks of Rakshasa armies rising in the east as well. One of your father’s closest allies had recently been sacked. Their castle and everything plundered, his daughter was still missing.
I was commissioned by the wonderful @pyromantic-technin who wanted a polyamorous story with an Alligator and Shapeshifter involved. I hope you guys enjoy.
You had gone home when your grandmother was sick. She was your favorite person in the world and you would do anything for her. She denied you that though. You had offered to give her one of your kidneys and she turned it down.
After the funeral, you were still in shock. You weren’t sure how to cope. You stayed in her house, sleeping most of the time. When you were able to get up and move around it wasn’t for much. You’d eat and use the bathroom then shamble back to the bed.
“A medical professor who has tracked the cost of insulin over the
years says that a one-month supply of a popular version that cost $45
wholesale in 2001 cost $1,447 14 years later, an increase of almost
3,000%. That’s the wholesale price, not the retail price that an
uninsured patient would pay.“
Yeah, that’s messed up.
Wow, it’s really rare I see something cross my dash that’s actually directly tied to my life on a personal level, but yea, I’m Diabetic Type 1 and this is a problem.
I’ve been off insurance for the last three or so years and have been working around through channel I can to continue to obtain insulin and supplies for my insulin pump (of which is currently a problem, fun) for free or at reduced costs.
The Lilly Cares program is one I heavily endorse if your insulin is a Lilly product. They’ve been incredibly helpful to me.
Please spread the word on this. There are a lot of young Diabetics like myself that do not have a support system, do not have insurance, and do not have jobs. Insulin is literally a life-sustaining medication for T1 Diabetics. Please do not just ignore this.
I dont remember much if anything about my early childhood, I have however been told many stories and shown photos of my bad behavior.
We have a photo of me crouching on the counter in the bathroom, having spread toothpaste on the entire mirror, sink, counter, cupboards and myself. My mother beleive I did it because I was angry with her.
We have a photo of me looking very angry holding up my blanket on my bed and showing all of my mother’s make up, broken and covering my entire bed/blankets.
I was told a sorry of me getting in trouble for whatever reason, being sent to my room but resisting to stay there. My mother held the door closed and I three myself against the door and walls screaming like a banshee. This scared my mother and she thought i may have been possessed.
Once my brother and I were playing at my grandma’s, when it was time to go home my grandma told us to clean up the toys. I refused. She told me “you can either clean up the toys with your brother or go stand in the corner” so i went and stupid I the corner of my own accord. She spanked me, but hey, I didn’t have to clean up the toys.
I once squeezed an entire tube of Carmex into my mother’s ear while she was napping.
Autobiography snippet
Much to my disappointment I am the only child in my family that did not go to preschool. My brother went, and years later my little sisters went, but not me.
As my birthday is in October I started school a yeast later than all the kids my age. I turned 7 a few months after kindergarten started. My teacher’s name was Mrs. Bird, and her daughter was also in my class. I had the afternoon time so i would go to school around 11 and go home around 3. I loved school and learning. My mother tells me that i refused to read with her or my father prior to kindergarten, but as soon as i was learning it in school I was obsessed, a quick learner, and rapidly moving to much higher grade level books. It was hard for my teacher to keep up. It was discussed for me to move up a grade, but i did not.
If a person says they can’t go to the doctor for something, it probably means they can’t go to the doctor.
Going to the doctor for an issue isn’t easy for everyone. It can involve taking off work, trying to find transportation there, trying to find an actual doctor to go to, and can cost a lot of money some people may not have.
Going to the doctor is expensive and time consuming. It’s not an option often for poor or disabled people. Please stop assuming everyone can see a doctor at all times if a medical issue arises. It just doesn’t work like that.
In lieu of the new tumblr settings, can I make yet another plea with those of you who read fics and consume art on tumblr to please reblog them?
Fics and art will die on a creator’s dash if they aren’t reblogged. It’s never been more true than now.
If you want to keep receiving content from creators, reblog the the content. If it’s something you enjoyed? Reblog it. It’s not hard. I am going to make a point to reblog everything I read from now on. (With the proper tags of course), as well as all the art that I see on my dash.
I cannot make it simpler. Posts WILL die unless they’re reblogged. No one will see your ‘like’. Your like is a bookmark for YOU to find it later. Your reblog means the world to a creator because it means you are willing to go the little extra distance and recommend this to your followers.
Don’t let creations die on the dash of those who created them.
Reblog to save a creation.
Reblog to keep a creator creating.
Reblog, please.
Ironically, Tumblr ate my last attempt at this post, so I’ll keep it sweet:
1. It makes content creators’ day when you interact with us, especially reblog.
2. Comments and tag blathering are really, really special to me, and I look at allllll my reblogs just in case someone said something interesting in the tags.
3. It works. @dresupi reblogged something of mine and I immediately got more notes.
